Comarch’s Critical Infrastructure Project Shortlisted for 2025 GLOTEL Awards

Comarch has been recognized for its cooperation with 450connect, Germany’s exclusive 450 MHz operator, having been placed on the shortlist for the prestigious GLOTEL Awards. The joint initiative, "450connect & Comarch – Developing a Robust 450 MHz Communications Backbone for German Critical Infrastructure," is a finalist in the IoT Initiative of the Year category.
The GLOTEL Awards celebrate achievements and innovation in the telecommunications industry. The nominated project highlights the deployment of a nationwide critical communication network utilizing the 450 MHz spectrum, essential for fail-safe communication systems. Comarch played a key role in delivering a tailored BSS/OSS platform to support 450connect’s business and operations.
The 450 MHz frequency band is perfect for critical infrastructure and IoT applications, offering an optimal balance of strong signal penetration and extensive coverage. This consistency is vital for essential services, including energy grids, public safety networks, and water supply systems. Furthermore, its low traffic and separation from public networks enhances cybersecurity and minimizes disruptions, providing a secure foundation for mission-critical operations.
Ensuring Scalability and Security for Critical Infrastructure
Comarch’s core IT platform integrates advanced solutions, including Comarch IoT Connect, Comarch OSS Fulfillment and Inventory, and Comarch OSS Assurance. This system is built to be robust, scalable, and highly flexible, allowing 450connect’s clients to manage wireless services such as ordering, monitoring, billing, and reporting through a user-friendly web portal or direct integration. The integrated OSS modules also provide critical tools for service assurance, performance monitoring, and network resource management. The modular design of IoT Connect allows for rapid scalability, providing a replicable model for other countries aiming to build secure, reliable networks for critical infrastructure.
The partnership marks a significant milestone aligned with Germany’s efforts to modernize critical infrastructure. 450connect is tasked with building and operating an LTE450 network that supports essential services. A full nationwide rollout of the system is planned by the end of 2025.
The winners of the GLOTEL Awards 2025 will be announced during the awards ceremony on December 4, 2025 in London.
